Naval battles seems interesting to me but haven't seen any reviews of it I trust.

We've got someone trying it out as we speak, so hopefully will have an article on it soon.

Hello Everyone.

I have purchased Naval Battles Simulator recently and it is worth buying it.
(you can find my review on Steam)

It is a good game (for a good price), definitely recommend to anyone interested in naval battles and serious strategy games.
The game has hours of gameplay and many features.
So far I have played battles and campaign mode.
(I will try the Shipyard soon)

I did not have any problems with a screen resolution, I knew that Java is needed, the game did not crash.
(mention that in response to negative Steam reviews)

I love the after battles reports, full of statistics and detailed information.
The timeline/curtain (in Campaign mode) is very interesting too.
(You can untick "Show curtain" in the Campaign option so you do not need to drag it up during a game.)
I have spent an hour reading letters, historical info, battle reports, and listening to radio broadcasting.

I have exchanged a few emails with Michal (the game creator) and I think we should support this indie project.
The price is just the right price to help him keep going with a great product.
I know the game is not polished yet but he works on the project and more improvements are coming soon.

The game is a remake of the Great Naval Battles game.
Comparing it to Rule the Waves is not correct.

There would be the battles between the Axis and Allies in WW2. The game features scenarios depicting notable battles, and a campaign mode, which is the meat of the game. As the Allies, you'll need to protect shipping as it moves from the US to the UK and other locales. If you choose to play as the Axis, you'll be trying to intercept those same convoys. The visuals are pretty simplistic, they do convey what is going on well enough.
